Eligibility Criteria of Punjab Police Constable 2026 Recruitment:Age limit:Age should be between 18-28 years as on 01 January 2026. Upper Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/BC categories of the state and regular employees of Punjab Government or of other State or Central Government. Check more age relaxation details in notification. Educational Qualification:Candidate should be 10+2 or its equivalent (Matriculation for ESM) from a recognized Education Board/University. It is mandatory for all candidates having passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language specified by the Punjab Government, on or before January 1st, 2026. Selection Process:The recruitment stages consist of a Common Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 marks (100 questions of 1 mark each) followed by Physical Screening Test (PST), Physical Measurement Test (PMT) with specified qualifying parameters. The selection will be done on merit to be made on the basis of marks obtained in the Paper 1 and normalization and candidate's indicated preference of cadre, against available category-wise vacancies. | ||

Nationality:
Candidate should be Indian Citizen who has not obtained the citizenship/permanent residency/green card of any other country.
Posting:
Recruited candidate(s) under Punjab Police Constable Jobs 2026 can be given posting anywhere in Punjab, India or abroad and transferring between one cadre to another shall not be allowed.
Pay Scale:
Starting Basic Pay of Rs. 19900 per month is to be given.
Exam Pattern of Punjab Police Constable Recruitment 2026:
The written test of PP Constable Vacancy 2026 will consist of two papers. Paper 1 will be of 100 marks having 100 objective questions of one mark each and total duration of 2 hours and no negative marking for wrong answers.
Paper-1 will have questions from General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and Numerical Skills, Mental Ability & Logical Reasoning, English Language Skills, Punjabi Language Skills, Digital Literacy & Awareness.
Paper-II is the mandatory paper of Punjabi Language (Matriculation standard). It will have 50 questions of 1 mark each.
Physical tests (PST & PMT) shall consist of various stages i.e. Height measurement, Running, Long Jump, High Jump.
